Why we called UV Lamp as Blacklight Lamp?

In the field of non-destructive testing, the UV Flaw Detection Lamp (peak wavelength 360-370nm), often called "black light", is in essence a precision tool that emits a specific long-wave ultraviolet (UV-A) light. The name "black light" comes from the key role of the filter - it strictly filters out all visible light and harmful UV-B, UV-C radiation, allowing only pure UV-A penetration invisible to the human eye. It is this characteristic, which cannot be captured by the naked eye, that makes it seem to emit only a mysterious "black light" when working in dark environments, while its core mission is to stimulate fluorescent magnetic powder or penetrant, clearly revealing subtle cracks and defects on metal surfaces.

The Questions We Need To Pay Attention To When We Use UV Lamp

1. The use of UV Flaw Detection Lamps should avoid direct exposure of eyes and skin to prevent damage to eyes and skin.

2. When using UV lamps, ensure indoor air circulation and good protection. Also avoid prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light to avoid health hazards.

3. Flaw detection lamps and accessories should be used or stored in a clean, dry, non-corrosive environment.

4. Dirt on the filter should be removed in time, because it will affect the black light emitted.

5. The filter should be renewed in time if it has cracks, because the cracks will make the visible light and medium and short-wave ultraviolet light pass through.

6. In the process of using the UV lamp, if you find that the light is not bright or flickering, you should stop using it immediately and check whether the detector lamp has poor contact or whether the lithium battery has insufficient power.
